There are subtle differences between the UNP and CBBE family bodies, that in my opinion ( or perhaps its just my lack of literal "pro-level graphic arts skills") preclude directly converting a UNP into a CBBE character and faithfully reproduce the same body geometry. However, as Ishara said, you can use simulated-UNP, CBBE ... CBBE is pretty much objectively better than UNP because of the support and tools, and you can pretty much make UNP's body in CBBE using BodySlide if you want to. I don't like either of their default bodies because CBBE is too ideal, but the waist is way too thin, and UNP is too petit. I personally use CBBE 3ba. but have also used BHUNP. At this point neither has advantages over the other and it comes down to preference and how you want to look. …Textures are the important thing and cbbe and 3bbb are the same exact textures since 3bbb is based off cbbe. So yes, go ahead and use both. Edit: only issue you might run into is if you try to mix and match armor pieces together , you will most likely get clipping. 4. Also, the texture and definition of UNP's tummy area is better with a prettier bellybutton as opposed to CBBE's "dark vertical hole". Leg seams with UNP are also much reduced. If you put an UNP-compatible texture on a CBBE mesh, the texture wont line up - you'll get nipples and bellybuttons, all over the place and gaps at the hip, as you've already noticed. Yes and no! If you use a unp armor mod but the body is different then there will be clipping and other oddness. Vice versa also.
