Field Worker = Working outside the Barn, planting seeds, but you have to build & assign the field first, then assign the worker for them to do the job. No need to Manure new created field.

If they are planted in autumn or winter and harvested in spring, they will be fine. However, every crop that is ready to be harvested and does not get harvested will be gone in the next season. That isn't just true for winter. So, make sure to harvest your crops when they are ripe.
