And now, even if I switch the ethernet connection so the AT&T gateway connects to my cat6 home wiring, I still have this issue. I don't know if this matters but originally the AT&T gateway's address was 192.168.1.254 but now it is 172.16.0.1, and the Netgear router's address is 10.0.0.1.
