Still has all the braze ons for racks and such, still can get you off on a fun multi day trip, or to work so you have the money to buy all this bike stuff. 100 x 12mm thru fork. 142 X 12mm thru axle rear.

Well I don’t think you necessarily have to drop 3500 for a bombora build. The frameset was 850 when I bought mine in 2018. But I know how these things go. ;) My thoughts are 1. there aren’t a whole lot of bike frames out there with the combo of tire clearance, Q factor, thru axles, and geometry that the Bombora offers.
